The illusion of separation, the belief that we are distinct from each other, from nature, and from the universe, is a misconception. Quantum physics echoes this truth of interconnectedness. At the most fundamental level, everything in the universe is intertwined.
Many spiritual teachings affirm that the belief in separation is the root of human suffering. This is tied to the ego, which nurtures a sense of individuality and division.
This illusion can lead to social and environmental challenges. When we see ourselves as separate, we might prioritize individual needs over collective well-being, sparking conflicts and environmental degradation. Embracing our interconnectedness fosters empathy, compassion, and a sense of responsibility towards others and our planet.
In this three-dimensional world, we experience the illusion of separation. Though we may have different appearances, genders, races, economic conditions, and cultures, we are one and connected.
I am inspired by Rumi's words: “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” This is the essence of my art piece.
